The sinner’s prayer has been unjustly maligned as church theatrics . Many saints born again of God’s Holy Spirit are fooled into thinking that the sinner’s prayer is some kind of performative work contradicting salvation by grace through faith. However asking is not a work. It is not a form of discipline moral or otherwise. We are free willed creatures, therefore exercise your will in choosing God by request.
