DO NOT BE ASHAMED OF CHRIST

In this life it would appear that the heathen is more powerful boasting of greater numbers. We can not lie, this age belongs to him. The entire world has gone after the devil. They speak lies not so much to deceive, but simply because they know those who love the truth have little leverage in a culture that they have hijacked. They know how to mock, how to obfuscate, and dismiss anything that can overturn their apple cart of advantage. So we become hunchbacks, beggars, and hated company. It is not our lot to stand in the glory reprobates. Our kingdom is past their understanding. Make yourself hard against their attacks knowing that your life is hidden in Christ. Your day arrives upon his return upon a cloud.

Romans 9:33

As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

You must understand that Christ can not be separated from his doctrine. Those who hate his word can in no wise love him. You hear this kind of buffoonery . They will tell you that are quite fond of the Nazarene, but despise OUR teachings trying to off load their true hatred of Christ on to his servants. Even the heathen can not compete with the shadow cast by our Lord. They must make some pretense of paying homage to the Holy One. It is nothing but a front to ease public perception. This is not so with the saints. We glory in his truth.

2 Timothy 2:15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

And again…

Luke 9:26

For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and of my words, of him shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he shall come in his own glory, and in his Father's, and of the holy angels.

This is why the man or woman of God must be lion hearted. You can not wilt when being mocked as you will if you show any kind of fealty to the risen Lord. The insults of your detractors must become your new music. It must be your gold medal. Learn to look forward to it understanding that their glory is fleeting. For now, you are the “bigot”, you are the “hypocrite”, you are “out of touch” and “judgmental.” No amount of friendly banter, stern debate, or silence will win them over because that hated our master long before they could pronounce our first names.

John 15:18

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

Do not be amazed when they throw your mistakes in your face. Nor seek to exonerate yourself when falsely accused. Suffice it only to tell the truth. Make no case greater than the truth.

Lastly, when your brother is ceased upon by the lost, do not side with the dogs against him. Do not fear the unbelieving. They can do nothing to you that the Lord can not restore.

2 Timothy 1:8

Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;

I do not recommend a perpetual disposition of readiness in anger. Be of good cheer. Show grace and friendliness. Yet understand that your enemy the devil will send his children to harass and discourage you. Be unmovable. Never allow the stranger to make you uncomfortable with your holy book with is given to you for great blessing.
