Remember the sermon Jesus gave about paying taxes to Cesar?

Mathew 22:15-22
Then went the PHARISEES, and took counsel HOW THEY MIGHT ENTANGLE HIM IN HIS TALK.  And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.
Tell us therefore, What thinkest thou? Is it lawful to give tribute unto Caesar, or not?
But Jesus perceived their wickedness, and said, WHY TEMPT YE ME, ye hypocrites?
Shew me the tribute money. And they brought unto him a penny.
And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription?
They say unto him, Caesar's. Then saith he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's.
When they had heard these words, they marvelled, and left him, and went their way.

See how they were trying to trick him?  If he said don't pay your taxes to those brutal heathens, then Jesus is a rebel and can be charged with a crime.  If Jesus say's pay the money, then he looks like he is licking to boot of their oppressors.  Jesus was clever and walked out of their trap by revealing how much they love money and did not care about the things of God.

Now they do THE SAME THING WITH THE WOMAN CAUGHT IN ADULTERY.

John 8:-9
And the scribes and PHARISEES brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst,
They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act.
Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?
This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.

OKAY SAME CROWD, THE PHARISEES TRYING TO TRAP HIM.  Why did not they adjudicate the matter?  Why, because they were doing the same thing, trying to entangle him in his speech.  Trying to tempt him.

The law says the participants of adultery must be stoned.  So if Jesus says don't do it he is breaking the law of God.  However if he says, "Okay, kill her," he would be breaking Roman law and they could change him with a crime.

So Jesus puts the ball in their court and adds the proviso that they themselves must be pure enough to enact that justice.  Now Jesus keeps both laws and breaks none.

Jesus is not against the death penalty and I can prove it.

Mark 7 10-13
For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, LET HIM DIE THE DEATH:
BUT YE SAY, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.
 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother;
MAKING THE WORD OF GOD OF NONE EFFECT through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

NOW WHO'S SIDE WAS JESUS ON?  THE LAW THAT COMMANDED TO KILL OR THE PHARISEES THAT TAUGHT A MORE RELAXED VERSION?

You must dig deep in the word of God
