I hold the King James Bible to be a pinnacle work of biblical translation. I affirm the Textus Receptus as the only valid line that Christian theology may source. I swear to my own hurt that God's word is inerrant. Salvation is obtained by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.  I believe in the eternal security of the believer.  I testify of the death, burial, and bodily resurrection of Christ. I also profess the dual nature of Jesus as God and man simultaneously. I reject a secret rapture. I reject dispensationalism. I dismiss any notion of separate gospels that cater to special concerns of different people groups. I only affirm one gospel which is the death, burial, and bodily resurrection of the LORD Jesus Christ. I believe in the triune nature of the Godhead; three persons in one. I stamp upon Calvinism, Catholicism, and every unserious offshoot of Protestantism. I am washed in the blood of The Lamb, and seated in heavenly places!

GENERATIONAL CURSES

I fully understand why people believe in generational curses. In fact that entire matter can be pinned on two pivotal verse. Lets examine the first one.

Exodus 20:4-6

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

Now this looks damning upon a first glance. However, if you read the verse closer, you will see a subtlety that is not at all legalistic. God visits the iniquity upon the third and forth generation OF THOSE WHO HATE ME. This is an active requirement to perpetuate that wrath of Jehovah. So this is not some issue of spiritual genetics. You can not control your physical height and you can not control you blessing and curses. WRONG. The last line of that verse tells you how to obtain blessing. Namely, mercy that is bestowed upon those who love and keep his commandments. That verse is simply expressing God’s unrelenting judgement. Maybe with the passage of a few generations, the Lord will just let us be. In other words, if we normalize a sin, the Holy One will get with the program. Four generations will not turn away God’s displeasure over abortion.

Now the second contentious verse deals with Noah cursing a son for the father’s transgression.

Genesis 9:20-25

And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:  And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.  And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.  And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father's nakedness.  And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.  And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

So most people read this scripture as Noah punishing Cannan for what Ham did, not so. Ham actually saw Noah in a state of nakedness. His son committed the transgression of which Ham saw the after affect. Noah was not punishing Ham. Some people read the phrase, “Younger son,” as referring to Ham being the youngest of Shem and Japheth. Rather his youngest son is his grand some Canaan. That is a direct curse.

Proverbs 3:33
The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just.

So it is possible to pass on the conditions that will make for wicked and rebellious children. However that is different than a supernatural force that beats down a person even before they know their right hand from their left. Also bare in mind, if my interpretation of the events of Genesis 9 are incorrect, that still does not mean God contradicted himself. His elect are favored by still flawed. David numbered Israel, Solomon multiplied wives, Moses struck the rock when God bid him to speak to it, and Noah was a drunkard. God’s chosen are still fallible. Paul called out Peter for his dissimulation. Yet the Holy Spirit will not allow his elect to speak ignorantly concerning doctrine.

Ezekiel 18:20
The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

And again

Deuteronomy 11:26-28
Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.

Blessing and cursing hinges on our walk with God.
