Many people confuse the wrath of God with the great tribulation. The great tribulation comes from the devil not God. The wrath of God comes obviously enough from God. We will be spared the wrath of God but not tribulation MUCH OF WHICH COMES FROM THE DEVIL.

Revelation 2:10
Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, THE DEVIL shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and YE SHALL HAVE TRIBULATION ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

---------------------------------------

The saints are expected to die for their witness to Christ. Who is persecuting them? The devil. He is casting them into prison.

 --------------------------------------

John 16:33
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. IN THE WORLD YE SHALL HAVE TRIBULATION: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

---------------------------------------

Jesus is telling them that they shall have tribulation, and the comfort is not that they will not go through it, the comfort it that they will live forever in glory with him. Their end is eternal peace and joy with Christ. Not being spared tribulation.

Romans 12:12
Rejoicing in hope; PATIENT IN TRIBULATION; continuing instant in prayer;

---------------------------------------

How can someone be patient in something they do not have to go through? That is like telling a man, "Be patient in child birth!" Makes no sense. It only makes sense if that advice is direct to a woman. We are told to be patient in tribulation be cause we will have it.

------------------------------------

2 Corinthians 1:4
Who COMFORTETH US IN ALL OUR TRIBULATION, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

--------------------------------------

This verse destroys the idea the God's comfort means we will not suffer. God comforts us IN ALL our tribulation, not with the message that we will not go through it. Since is is ALL tribulation that means the great one too. The one that the devil throws at us. Why would God behead his saints? That comes from the devil.

--------------------------------------

2 Corinthians 7:4
Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you: I am filled with comfort, I AM EXCEEDINGLY JOYFUL IN ALL OUR TRIBULATION.

--------------------------------------

More of the same. Joy in tribulation. Not joy to find out you have no tribulation. What about Christians that were fed to the lions, lit as human torches, beheaded, stripped of wealth, humiliated, and driven out of the lands they occupied. Why were they not sparred? Are they bad Christians where we are good Christians? Historically escaping tribulation does not make sense. Christians have always faced persecution. This new teaching that we skip it because God loves us is not biblical.

--------------------------------------

1 Thessalonians 3:4
For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that WE SHOULD SUFFER TRIBULATION; even as it came to pass, and ye know.

--------------------------------------

This one needs no explanation, just read it.

Revelation 1:9 I
John, who also am your brother, and COMPANION IN TRIBULATION, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. John found a brother in tribulation a fellow saint. This was not an angel with wings, this was a saint that in all likelihood died a martyr. Angels can be men as well. Which reminds me of the saints underneath the table crying for vengeance.

Revelation 6:9-10
And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

WHY DO THEY NEED TO BE AVENGED? GOD WOULD NOT ALLOW HIS SAINTS TO SUFFER PERSECUTION! OH YES HE HAS, DOES, AND WILL. OUR COMFORT IS HEAVEN NOT ESCAPE FROM THE DEVILS PERSECUTION. Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
